My mother was a glamorous model and my dad a Press Agent. They raised me on rock and roll.
I was born a natural redhead and grew up in NYC. I rode horses before school in the streets of Manhattan and yelled at cab drivers to get out of my way!
I hung out in the LES and dated another natural redhead named Cheetah Chrome who was the lead guitarist in a band called the Dead Boys. (in this photo we are sitting in the Saturday Night Live audience having been invited by our friend John Belushi. It is blurry b/c it was shot off the TV). Click on photo to view clip
This photo of me is from the book: Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk That leather hat with skull and crossbones badge was my trademark. Someone stole it at the Mudd Club and I'd like to know where it is. Last I heard it was hanging in an art gallery. Click on photo
We were the quintessential punk couple whose volatile relationship rivaled that of Sid and Nancy - although we didn't kill each other. I accompanied Cheetah on the Damned/Dead Boys UK Tour in 1977 and got to experience the best of Punk and the wildest side of it.
My closest friend at the time was Cynthia "Roxy" Whitney who was the girlfriend of Johnny Ramone. She wrote a book Too Tough to Love: My Life with Johnny Ramone. If you are interested in true punk stories, read that one. I'm in it!

Another of my girlfriends from punk days was the No Wave icon Anya Phillips. She took this photo of me in her East Village apartment. I smoked at the time.
I became a heroin addict.
I saw the movie Performance when I was a young girl. I fell in love with the decadent bohemian lifestyle portrayed in the film and especially its star, the legendary Anita Pallenberg. One of the best things that my heroin addiction brought me was a friendship with this goddess. We used together, and later on in life we both got clean. Anita took this photo of me when she was studying textiles. She shot the picture, then stained it to make it look antique. It remains one of my most cherished possessions.
Somewhere along the way a bass guitar was put in my hands.

Tomboys NYC with Chip English on drums who later joined Lunachicks and Blare Bitch on guitar, later of Betty Blowtorch. I was the bass player.

Another of my bands where I wrote songs and played bass was Transisters, with trans singer Chloe. I had big pink hair.

I was the house band bassist in artist Mark Kostabi's TV show "Name That Painting". Here we are with guests Glen Obrien and Michel Gondry.
Mark Kostabi, Tony Mann and I played with jazz great Ornette Coleman on the TV show.
I played bass with Psychic TV for their European Tour in 2009.

I made my imprint in the heavy music scene playing bass in the seminal doom band Angel Rot, with White Zombie axe man, Tom Five. We toured the USA doom circuit more than once to promote the band's Man's Ruin Records release.
I am mentioned in the Rockdetecor book A-Z of Doom, Gothic and Stoner Metal under Angel Rot. Click on photo
I play bass in The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black with the legendary Kembra Pfahler.
The goddess Kembra blesses me with a pentagram during a show in Berlin.

I currently play bass in Judas Priestess, The World's Only All-Girl Tribute to the Metal Gods with singer Militia Vox, guitarists Josette and Rena Sands Petrucci, and drummer Hillary Blaze.
As the proud co-founder of this band, I am happy to announce we celebrated a 10 year anniversary in 2019.
